Utilites you must have

SpyBot - SpyBot is a utility to look for spyware on your computer. Spyware is loaded on your computer from sites that are tracking your activity or want something to run on your system.

When you click on the SpyBot link find the word Download on the left side of the screen that comes up and click on it. Download and install SpyBot. Then run it periodically to keep these things off of your system
 

PanicWare - has a great utility that stops pop-up ads. $19.95
 

Google Toolbar - Free download adds the great search features of google to your browser toolbar and provides popup stopper. When installing, don't set the advanced features. This may share information on the internet.
